Thanks for visiting...
I was puzzled for a long time about how to do my new jewelry site in a way that was really "me" and which expressed a bit of what it's like to be an artist. There were site designs I've loved that were more colorful, but none really captured what I wanted. I wanted something in earthy tones with lots of great art, but I can't figure out how to incorporate my sketches with color in a way that achieves the look I want, so I decided to go with the "paper and pencil" look you see here since that's how many of these exquisite baubles get their start. They begin on napkins, odd scraps of paper, and even the backs of envelopes with sketches and notes - little bits of paper everywhere.
Somehow most of these pretties manage to pop through the veil into reality so you and I can wear them and enjoy them. I don't think there's a soul on the planet that enjoys wearing these creations as much as I do, but I have plenty of customers who beg to differ.
The jewelry drawings at this site are scans of my original jewelry sketches from the design stages of many of my pieces. I'll keep adding more as I go. I think it could be kind of fun for you to see how similar to its sketch a piece actually turns out, even as far as scale goes. The real piece is a blast of sparkle and color that can't be captured in a sketch, but the sketches have a romance all their own. I haven't always sketched each piece before I made it, but I need the sketching practice so I've made it a goal for myself to eventually sketch every existing piece as well as any new pieces. When you look at the jewelry items, if there's a sketch of the item, I'll put it either as the background for the item description or as another view of the picture.
The Cynthia Clinton store in Gilroy, CA serves the southern Silicon Valley area and sells handmade jewelry and art made by myself and other talented artists. I myself make chain maille jewelry (handmade mesh), ethnic jewelry, earthy jewelry, and even chunky jewelry.
From necklaces and earrings to bracelets, rings, and belly chains, there is something here for everyone in many different price ranges. I have dress-up jewelry for children for those special occasions. I make accessories like boot and shoe jewelry, belts, key keepers, purse jewelry and belt loop jewelry. I have a proclivity for bold jewelry.
I have my own line of incredible handbags and a line of housewares as well. I make chain maille (mesh) lamps, metal-embossed wood items, jewelry encrusted blank books and much more. The other artists I sell here at Cynthia Clinton are Carrie Otterson who makes beautiful jewelry that makes my heart flutter; Joseph Fernandes and Linnea Smith who make awesome drawn works including posters, notecards and shirts; and Sandra Clinton who does incredible dried arrangements, darling dolls, embellished lampshades, and cool scarves.
I created the site as a convenience to my local mortgage, wellness, and fitness clients who happen to buy my jewelry and other art. The primary method of product delivery is "local pick up". However, you may add payment for shipping and we'll ship anywhere in the contiguous United States for the same low price, no matter what your order quantity or total is. Other items like shirts, that are made by other artists might have a different shipping policy. Shipping policy will be listed at the item.
I hope you have a great time shopping at Cynthia Clinton.
